Now for the issue and the one downer of the trip.. while driving some kind of metal sheet fell off a truck ahead of me, I took over for autopilot to swerve and avoid it... and I succeeded for the most part but I was just a hair too late.... the sheet must have clipped my wheel and now I have a pretty noticeable chip in my front driver side wheel :( anybody have any recommendations on what I could use to paint that?
Sorry to hear it. I believe an alloy wheel repair service can fix this for you for $150 or so, and some even have mobile service that come to you. Good luck.

Just to second this. We had major curb rashes on our Model X alloy wheels and Tesla fixed it for $200 per wheel. They told me that they too use a mobile guy who stops by on demand at the service center. They did say that these services are quite good and I could have as well contacted one directly.

If I make a changes on my order configuration now, will the order date changes to today’s date? Want to change the exterior color but if that date changes, maybe I will lose my mobile connector kit cuz order date will be after 4/17/2022.
we have a friend who changed their MY order. kept the same color, changed 5 to 7 seats, and removed FSD. her delivery date got pushed further out. the biggest issue for them was, the base model price of the car went up by $1000 because the the price has gone up since the originally placed the order.

my wife wanted to change our MX 7 seater to 6 and keep everything else. our rep said if i can log in to the tesla acct and there's still a modify/edit order button, then it "might" be ok with no price change. he will double check if we can still modify/edit. but when i went in my account, the button is gone. he can override our order but we would have to pay the $15K price increase of the base model. we decided to leave our order as is.

so before making a change, make sure the price of the base model will be the same unless that's not a big deal to you or the changes you want to make is worth the price difference. and i believe the order date will change. i'm not sure about the mobile connector.

hello ladies and gentlemen... I see this place is still rocking at 1600 pages now wow! Figured I would give you guys an update since you can probably use the distraction more than any other threads here:

So since the kids had spring break last week, we decided on a whim to drive down to our Tampa house and spend the week there, going back and forth to the parks in Orlando and visiting some friends, etc...

The trip is roughly about 1,100 miles each way. This would be our first big trip in an EV so I was a bit nervous and making sure I had everything in order.... mapped it out on ABRP, made sure I had plugshare all set up, etc.. I was also a little concerned with the issues I had been reading about like the car freaking out at superchargers or the "rear restraint" error, etc...

I am happy to report that I had zero issues with the car (just a small issue but no fault of the car... more on that later)

Driving down I wanted to follow ABRP but between getting the kids settled, running to the bathroom, grabbing something to eat, etc... etc... I didn't really have time to mess around with and override so I just went with Tesla's guidance, and it really wasn't that bad.... One thing I learned though it seems like it overestimates your range left at destination... so for example it would tell me I will arrive with about 5% which I am comfortable with.... and in reality I was arriving with 16-20% I just let it be and continued to charge until it said 5%... I'll mess around with that next trip..... But overall the trip was smooth, the car performed amazingly.... Only small complaint is that the car would shake a little when going over 85, perhaps that has to do with the quality of the road I was on?

I have a nema 14-50 on the property in FL so I would just charge at home, with the mobile connector I was getting 26/mph which surprised me, I was expecting more like 17 or so.

Driving back up was more of the same, I once again followed the Tesla guidance... a 17 hour trip took about 20 hours... but I did hit some gnarly pockets of traffic, and we made one stop that lasted about 45min in order to eat lunch so overall not bad at all...

I am usually the type that wants to get to my destination as fast as possible with as little stops as possible... but doing the EV life was actually not bad, the stops helped me stretch out and keep awake.

TLDR: took a 2200 mile road trip this past week... Car performed great... none of the issues plaguing other MXs.... clipped a metal sheet on the highway small chip in wheel... Tesla navigation/charging suggestions worked great.
I'm taking the X from Houston to Colorado this summer. The wife is pissed at my decision and claims we'll be turning a usually 15 hour trip to 20. But. I. Must. Test. It!

Got vinned 4/12/2021 with VIN (NF337XXX). Still no updates and my range of 5 days keeps getting shifted by 1 since 4/12. So 4/12-419 -> 4/13-4/20 -> .... -> Today it's 4/25-4/29.

This is for long range, 6 seater, white on white with 22", no FSD, ordered 4/12/2021. I'm in Bay Area, picking up at fremont.

Texted the 510 # and still saying it's in manufacturing at factory.

Yeah, I had Dr. Wheel fix my M3's wheels for 125 per. They come to you (office or home) and do it there. It's great.

Here, in St. Louis, I have a guy that will fix scratched and messed up rims for a very good price. He can make them look perfect. I imagine there’s probably someone locally you can find to do the same, but I’m fairly useless outside of my area.

I've been pinned! I've been pinned! Tesla and I are going steady. Whoops, make that vinned.

Came today. The specifics:
Vin #: 7SAXCDE56NF34xxxx
The Vehicle: 5 seater, metallic blue, FSD, LR
Delivery Window (subject to change): 4/29-5/4/2022
Car Status: Made, in California, to ship by rail to Birmingham, AL, then by truck to delivery center.
Delivery Location: SS Kennesaw, GA
Tesla Contact: Delivery Specialist called this afternoon to confirm contact info. Said I will receive a text to schedule actual delivery sometime this week.

Only took 15 months. No sweat.

BTW, I consider myself extremely lucky in one respect. I decided to finance through the credit union where I do my banking and they're STILL offering a 1.99% rate on new auto loans. I'm planning to pay for most of it in cash, but there's still a decent sized BMW deficit versus what I'll put down and what I'll finance. Given what's going on out there with inflation and so forth, that's really low rate. Hope to lock it down tomorrow.

PS I was soooo excited to tell you guys that I won't be bitching here much longer that I accidentally posted this in the M3 waiting forum by mistake much to their puzzlement.
CONGRATULATIONS! Take lots of Pics and please share with us as well.

lol yeah I got the same speech, but it's really not that bad tbh... I found the stops to be really helpful and needed. plus the kids and my wife needed bathroom breaks all the time. Although I have to give them credit, with the exception of one time each way they always held it until the next supercharger stop lol.

I found one near my house, hopefully they give me a good price... It's not a huge chip but it's very glaring.. Especially once you see it... I can't unsee it now lol.

You are a brave man. Pray for open superchargers the whole way. Otherwise, you are going to endure 15 to 20 hours of the “I told you so“ blank stare out the window with arms crossed. Good luck, my friend! 😉

I mean I already had conversation with Jorge who is taking care of order modifications. He said the price will be honored and it is able to change configuration by him. Just curious about the date of order was made if it stay still or changing to new date when the changes were made. I have the date of 6/13/21 but I don’t want to be changed to today’s date.

Just to make sure, I asked this to Jorge now. Waiting for his reply.

I’ll do the light show tonight. Guys, launches are insanity. Felt sick after the first one - can’t get faster than this 😁. I was told matrix please tell me it is…
Hi!

Ill get my Plaid this week in Montreal and my insurer can't give me the new replacement value option on the car where when you get totalled, they will replacement a new X for you. I wonder if you manage to get it and if yes, with which insurer? thanks.

I made my first visit to the Kennesaw, GA SC today. It’s a very nice place. Unfortunately, there were no refreshed S or X to see, and they, of course, could tell me nothing about my EDD other than “You have to rely on the app but I’m sure you’ll have it by July”. Looking forward to picking up my new vehicle there whenever the VIN Gods finally smile on me.
