Removing a fixed spoiler

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with removing the rear spoiler? I am being told you have to cut it out and replace it.

PS: this to fix a dent right on the edge of the rear hatch.

Yes, is a one time use.
I picked up my MX 10/19, took it to the SC on 10/30 for falcon door alignment, after almost 2 weeks I called to inquire why the delay, I was told they had to also align the rear trunk, which requires removing the rear glass and spoiler... the new spoiler was in transit and needs to be painted as they cannot remove it from the car w/o damaging/breaking it.
Very poor design if you ask me.. my brand new MX with 100 miles has already been repainted :/

It's sadly better than the folding one which as I understand, while reusable, requires the entire hatch to be dismantled and glass removed. It's almost like both spoilers were afterthoughts.
