Repairing a Flooded Tesla Model S : HOW-TO

I'll put this out there now, here are the 2 things I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to do to this car..

1) Remove the motor
2) Remove battery pack.... and having to go into the battery pack

Unfortunately... this seems unlikely. I will definitely need assistance/guidance from some of the guys in the 'hacking thread" with getting diagnostic info from the pack so hopefully they find their way over here.

Just thinking back to simpler times... and how this adventure has played out thus far.

uhaul - yes

Love the irony ... a huge battery pack at a gas station
BTW - Did you need to secure that from sliding forward?

Tilted the front of the trailer to attempt to slide it off gracefully

hmmm just realized no anchor points.

I'll use my truck as an anchor point and use it to drag the pack off the trailer... you guys have no idea how heavy this stupid thing is...

Do you have a trailer hitch on your Tesla? Those pictures gave me an idea on how to double your range. :)

Thought of that looong ago.

Lots of questions though.

How much would the range diminish if you were pulling an additional 1300lbs?

How do you cool the second battery?

How do you tell the car to take power from a different battery pack on the fly?

Probably less than ten percent range hit, if it's only the extra weight. (~25% increase in weight/rolling resistance - meaning 80% of the range if that were the only factor, and aero matters more than rolling resistance at freeway speeds.)

Not sure how best to handle the cooling - maybe a standalone system pieced together from a Model S HVAC?

The simplest way to handle switching power would be to somehow rig the two sets of contactors - open the ones in the original battery, then close the trailer ones moments later and drive on just that battery.
