You can install our site as a web app on your iOS device by utilizing the Add to Home Screen feature in Safari. Please see this thread for more details on this.

You'll need to download the app and login to your Tesla account to get basic access. You can then pair the phone to the car via BT if you want it to replace your key card / fob. Essentially, no different than the first time you set it up.
Guessing new phone can be set up via prior backup, for sure with iOS and imagine Android has similar. Helps with the boring bits of getting all apps, passwords etc
Yup, exactly. Even if you do a complete secure backup of the old phone, and then restore the new phone from that backup, you'll still need to pair the car to the phone while actually sitting in the vehicle, with one of your keycards.

Wife and I replaced our Samsung phones with newer model Samsung last week, I can confirm that you have to pair the new phone using the keycard like you did with your original phone. It was easy, took about a minute each. You can delete your old phone as a key or keep it. Your old phone can now be a spare phone key.
