Hopefully some people will find this helpful.

Our X is now done over 30K and 2 years, so I thought it was time to replace the cabin air filter - (Note this is different from the HEAP filter which you can also do your self quite easily).

Various YouTube DIYs on how to do it, but one suggested it would take over 1hr and hard to do…..and no videos on RHD cars.

Actually it turns out its quite easy, if you have ever installed any car audio equipment its not hard. Took me 20 minutes, with taking photos/time, can do it in under 10 minutes next time I recon.

Start by making the area in passenger seat clear/clean of clutter.

1: You need to remove three trim covers, all held in place by standard auto industry clips. If you have a plastic car trim removal tool life is easier. I removed the trim in the order shown in the photo, 1 and 2 are easy. 3 was harder, but start from the small area closest to the door, just pull hard (but carefully) and the whole trim will come off. If any of the metal clips are retained in the plastic fixers just make a note.

You should end up with this.

2: Remove 6 T20 screws holding the glove box in place, any T20 screw driver will work, none are hard to reach.

Once the screws are free, you call pull the glove box out, there is a plug to undo, which I’ve circled, you can than just rest the glove box on the floor.

3: Next unclip the air filter - just unclip the green handle, and pull out. Note the AP computer is the silver box just above, and it gets HOT so take care. Tesla wasn’t making it up, replacing the AP computer alone is quite easy!!

4: The old air filter 100% needed replacing, simply pop in the replacement which actually is quite a tight fit and the hardest bit of the install!!

5: Reinstall the trim and your done!!

Our X has been in for ALOT of warranty work, but the actual service requirements for a car having done 30K really is hardly any thing!!

For replacement filter I just ordered from a 3rd party website.
