Right Rear Seatbelt Locked Retracted, Can’t Release - Ideas?

Hi BnBinAlpine,

I looked at my right rear seat (in a 2018 7 seat model) and the retractor and belt coil mechanism is at the
top of the seat. It is within an inch or two of where the belt disappears into the seat.
The seat will have to be taken apart to release the lock.

It looks like a possible job for mobile service...
Maybe they could get a screwdriver or thin tool in there to release the lock.

Good Luck,

Shawn

So took it to service and turns out it’s a simple fix, no tools req’d to do it yourself — simply release the seat back, fold flat, return to upright and voila. I actually almost tried this before taking it in but didn’t as thought it might make it worse.

I’m kinda suspecting that my 6-yr old grandson may have caused that by releasing the seat belt and letting it fly retracted, rather than gradually releasing. But regardless, now you know how to correct this!
