Service Center Damaged My Car

Lately I feel like I just can’t win when it comes to Tesla. I took my model s into my local service center for a new windshield. I couldn’t pick the car up until after hours so they left it in the parking lot. On my drive home I notice a pretty big dent in my MCU bezel. I immediately take a picture and set up a service appointment for 3 weeks from now so it’s at least time stamped. I have no idea how they will take this and I just hope they say, oops we will take care of it. But I’m exhausted just thinking about the hoops I will have to jump through to get this corrected... or maybe not at all.

My service center repeatedly left tools, flashlights etc in my vehicle (I really should have just kept them) and also caused a pretty bad scuff on my steering wheel. I noticed that scuff 10 seconds after turning out of the service center and went back. They stared at it, then gave me a line of well, we don't know if you did this or we did. I was firm and they eventually replaced it. Eventually because it took them 2-3 months to get the steering wheel in. Or maybe it only took a week, I don't know because they never really got back to me so I pinged them them after a couple months and then they suddenly had it. Their communication has been pretty horrendous and nearly impossible to get them to contact you back when they say they will (if they say they will).

I agree 100%. While I am very grateful that they agreed to replace the damaged part, I'm not expecting it any time soon. My local SC is close by, so I can stop by when Im in the area to check on the status of my part.

Happened to me as well. Went in for a minor center console adjustment and saw them work on my car.
2 techs moved the front seats all the way back lying belly down on my Model S' door sills. As I looked closely, both techs were wearing utility belts with tools hanging from them. Needless to say, both door sills got scratched. The passenger side got heavy scuff marks that were immediately polished off when I highlighted the damage. The driver's side got a deep 1 inch long scratch that took some paint off.

As they finished polishing the passenger side, they regrettably informed me that they didn't have any Obsidian Black Metallic paint in stock in order to touch-up the scratch, just regular black paint, "but they didn't recommend using regular black, as it would not match my metallic paint"...

I ran out of there and dropped my Model S with my detailer who installed the PPF and ceramic coat on my car, who showed me he even had a hefty collection of the OEM Tesla paint repair kits. Went back to the service center with my detailer's invoice and fortunately they refunded the full cost.

It happens, in the end its really how they handle the situation. I went in for a few items and noted to them my TPMS on the rear passenger was acting weird. Since it was cold he immediately said it may be due to the drop in temp, we'll top it off. Later on he calls and said that I have 2 punctures in the tire and recommend changing it out. I agreed and they changed it. A few days later there's a break in the temp and I wash the car only to notice a scratch on my carbon rims half way on the rim that the tire was replaced. It was clear to be caused by the tire machine. I called them up and sent a few pics and video. They said drop it off and we'll get it fixed up. So I did and they had it done the next day. Put it on and all is good.

I'll admit it would be nice if the service techs would admit to such mistakes. I get it, it happens and Tesla is still a young company. I'm just glad that so far any mistakes that have happened they have addressed them and I appreciate that. I support them and want them to succeed and am always willing to work with them.
