So BP put chademo 50 KW connectors on the same stalls as the 150 kW CCS connector? That's sensible.
Contrary to all the spin and hullabaloo from BP then, the reality is that the 150 kW chargers are sat idle while leafs (leaves?) and taxis are plugged into Chademo at less than 50 kW.

The London E-Taxis primarily use a CCS connector, but have the option of CHAdeMO as well. Both up to 50kw.

All Polar Rapid 50kw points have three tethered cables - CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2. You can only use one cable at a time though. That's the same for the 150kw points too.

So yeah it basically means currently the cabs are basically sat at a 150kw charger using only 50kw of the 150kw maximum.

But of course the iPace and the i3 and the Leaf are probably charging just as slowly as the taxis. Free electricity brings out the worst in people, hogging chargers to 100%, squeezing out as much free juice as possible at barely a trickle  . Hence the queues.

Different from Tesla owners charging at SCs how ;).

'Free' EV charging of any kind is nuts - Tesla SCs included. Its human nature to want free stuff, but its not good for actual infrastructure development.

I find the Taxis queuing surprising, charging for 'free' must only save them £5-10 on 50 miles of range, if they have time to waste queueque they ROI on those Taxis must be less than £10/hr, thats less than minimal wage!!
