I've got a Y on order with a 2.22-3.29 delivery date range. I ordered with the base Gemini wheels to 1) keep it under the tax credit cap, which has now changed. 2) because I knew I wanted to get aftermarket wheels and am not really a fan of the Tesla Induction wheels. I'm planning on purchasing Martian 20" MW03's. Has anyone looked at the mileage range difference between a stock 19" Gemini and a lighter weight forged wheel like the Martian MW03?

19" Gemini 34.6lbs: Tesla's stated range 330 miles
20" Turbine 31.55lbs: Tesla's state range 318 miles
20" Martian MW03 26lbs: Range unknown?

I know the Tesla wheels are designed with range efficiency in mind. My main concern is an aftermarket 20" wheel will be less efficient than Tesla's 20" Turbines, despite the 6.55lb weight reduction per wheel.

I'm sure someone else has made the switch from factory 19's to lighter aftermarket 20's and can shed some light on this, even better if you made the switch to Martians :)

TIA

Hi all,

Just wondering if it's a (safety) issue to replace the MYP tyres to something like 255/45R18?
Most calculator out there doesn't recommend it as it is more than 3% than the stock, and this is what's readily available here locally

For Model Y, you will need at least 50 series tires on 18".

255/45/18 is -3.6% smaller in diameter than stock 255/45/19.
