Solar Data in a multiple accounts

I am trying to get my solar data to show in both my Tesla account and my wife’s account but Tesla said this was not possible. I am concerned because I bought a vehicle in my account, but my wife has the solar in her account. So, if we share the vehicle and use the app as a key, then I won’t be able to log in and see the solar data in my account. I would have to log out of my account and log in as my wife to see the solar then log out and log on to use the car. Does anyone know how to get the solar information linked to more than one Tesla account?

If the cars can be shared I don’t get why the solar can’t be shared too?

Thank you.

It can be shared. We have our solar data showing up on two different accounts. You just need to contact Tesla and find someone there who can configure it properly.

Another confirmation that it can be shared, because I also have it setup that way like @MorrisonHiker does. My wife has her own tesla account, and the solar + powerwalls show up in her account as well. I forget what I did to get that setup. I believe I contacted tesla energy support via phone (not the general tesla number).

Well I guess I can call them again. They definitely told me this was impossible before. If you have any keywords that might help me find the right person let me know. If it’s called two primary accounts or shared primary or something like that? Any information would help since whoever answers the phone doesn’t seem to know.

By the way is your Tesla app up to date?

Yes, my tesla app is up to date. I believe I asked them (tesla energy phone support) "I would like my solar and powerwalls to appear in my wifes tesla app, how can that be setup?" (or something like that).

Great news! My wife can see all our products now in her own account. I didn't end up calling the other number. The support person that I talked to today actually kept working the issue (via their internal chat) and found what needed to be done. She actually called me back to follow up and let me know to try it again. One thing I did learn, there appears to be some delay when they make the change and when it is visible. The first time we looked after each change would show nothing. Then we would be checking different things and without them changing anything on their end it appears. I also recommended that they teach the other support teams about multi-account for energy product so they, the Powerwall support team, doesn't end taking all the support load.

By the way a keyword to use is "map in" which @Sugler mentioned above.

Today I experienced the level support that I have dreamed about from Tesla. I've literally tried to solve this issue for years with no success until tonight.

It turns out I had to talk to a Powerwall specialist. They were able to “map” another email to the solar account.
So I just got off the phone with Tesla Energy Support and of course they told me sharing solar data visibility between two tesla app accounts could not be done. They recommended that we just use the same login information for two different phones. Maybe this data sharing between two accounts can only be done for those with Powerwall??

So found out yes this can be done with Solar only as well. Literally 4 minutes on the mobile app chat support and problem solved. The term the rep used was they have to add that person as "an authorized contact for this solar account." They just need their name, phone, and email address (same as Tesla Account presumably) and voila.....solar visibility in two tesla app accounts. Thanks for helping me solve this one.

Most recent version for this me what I just needed the email address for the other Tesla account. I did this via web chat and it was easy.

Just an update to this thread. I just went through Web support chat. Took about 10 minutes with wait times to add my wife as an authorized contact, and then also to "map" her email to the Powerwall account so she has access to the system in the Tesla App.
Web support person instantly knew what I was asking for and how to do it.
