some tesla model x 2017 have matt black seats back and some have the new falcon wing door button but some other have glossy back and old falcon wing door button what does this mean

Our 6/17 x100d has mat black and new button.

it just means they do small updates to the car over time, either to improve usability and/or due to production improvements. gloss seats got replaced by the matte, and the latch looking door toggle went through 3 iterations. you can actually request them to replace the toggle with the newest one.

Yes they should do it for free under warranty. The improved design was supposed to fix the confusion with the nondescript silver handle that would lead to a lot of broken switches

My 2017 has the 3 internal charge units so I get 72 amp rate at home. Has the heated steering wheel and heated wipers. Only service I had was the 2 annual services and they replaced the charge port due to one LED being off color. All under warranty. Owned BMW and Porsche. Happy with my Tesla.

Thanks. I may add that to my next service call and see what they say. Mine work fine, but they are kinda janky.

Many "pre new FWD button" X's get their buttons replaced to the new style when they come in for service. Just ask your SC Rep.
