Soundskins Cabin Noise Dampening Kit

I ordered the sound skin deadening for model y last month. I got all the trunk trim off and then saw all the HV wiring I’d need to work around. I then got second thoughts about doing this myself. I contacted the soundskin store since they are local to me & their video makes it sound like they have a service center but they do not offer installation. They do not have a store, they are just a factory. They also said it was unlikely any of their resellers would install because they tend to only install kits that they sell. The soundskin representative said they’d ask around and call me back if any of their resellers would install for me, it’s been a week and no word 😢. Maybe when I have more free time I’ll try to so it myself.

Godspeed

Found a place near me in downtown Los Angeles which says they’ve installed soundskin kits on about 60 teslas so far. $600 for the install (prices change all the time) & said it was a one day job requiring two installers working together. Probably will try them out.
Looking forward to hear how it goes. I'm terrified a less-experienced shop wouldn't be able to put everything back as tight as from the factory. I haven't found an installer in the Denver area. Hope it goes well for you.

I bought a roll from SoundSkin, not the pre-cut pieces (much cheaper), and just applied to the wheel wells where @ilovecoffee suggestsed. The only issue I had was that I put too many layers on the right wheel well and couldn't get the speaker back on. Easy fix - just had to take off some of the layers and it got it back in place. Overall, easy to DIY, just focus on the attachment points when pulling on pieces and they should come out without breaking. Most important aspect is to wear gloves - I didn't and gave myself loads of papercuts from the aluminum backing. I'm pleased with the results.
