spoiler install issue, question

bought this ebay spoiler, its not quite curved in enough and the tips stick out a bit. i put extra tape on both sides and use a heat gun (low setting).

i'm thinking about using some GE clear silicone indoor/outdoor to fill in the gap, then paint it with some left over black touch up paint. what do yall think? any other suggestions?

Thanks

I'd reach back out to the seller. If they are selling as direct fit, I'd be asking for a replacement or refund. Maybe they sent you the wrong spoiler?

Using a filler as you proposed will not look good. Better off not having that spoiler at all over some half ass fix to cover up a pretty noticable flaw. That would drive me nuts.

A. Before you removed the protective strip in the adhesive, did you do a “dry” run with placing it on the trunk and seeing how it looked? Maybe the exact position is higher or lower?

B. It could be gapped by design. I don’t know, just throwing this out there.
