psst, whisper it, but you can charge to 100% in an LR.When you can charge to 305 miles at 100% in a SR+ does a LR make sense at 360 x 0.8 = 288 miles??
plus they are all WLTP ratings, which means you won't actually get 305 miles (or 360 for LR), but would assume a real world range of say 300 for LR and 240/250 for updated standard model (assuming both are at 100% charge). Looking at it from an efficiency point, I cant imagine one is more efficient than the other (on a wh/m basis) so purely comes down to battery size irrelevant of whether you should charge to 100% or not, as you said, you can charge an LR to 100% if needed, its just recommended not to every time.psst, whisper it, but you can charge to 100% in an LR.

I got told the new base Model 3 comes with the Model Y rear motor in combination with the 60kwh pack, which would still match your theory.Current SR+ have the performance rear motor. I assume that they are now using the LR rear motor and hence why the 0 - 60 time has been reduced...
[*]If you are already matched with a car, then your SR+ will come with the 278 range, and 5.3sec 0-60. Regardless of what your vin letter/number may say.
That's technology advances for you. Give it 2-3 years and we'll be looking at 500 mile cars I think. My LR was 310 miles when new, now it's about 290. Feels poorly labelled now as a 'Long Range' car.
Don't know? I'm just relaying the message from Tesla. Thanks for this, but it doesn't quite match the matched 383 VIN in Germany which has the 60kwh battery according to the CO paperwork.
