Summon on AP 3.0 inferior to AP1 for my garage

I recently traded in my 2015 85D with AP1 for a 2019 SR with FSD(AP3.0). After forking over $7500 after tax for FSD with summoning by car in and out of the garbage being one of the reasons, I’m very disappointed with it. With my old model, it worked 90% of the time and now it seems to be 50%. It constantly veers to the right and stops before it crashes into my side. I happen to have a pretty tight garage (picture below). Anyone else notice this feature doesn’t work as well? Kind of puzzling given double the amount of cameras.

Not just doubling: AP1 has 1 camera while AP2 and above have 8!

That sounds like AP2 and above currently do not use any camera for summon at all!

It should get better once it starts using the cameras!

AP1 summon works great. It works for me every time in and out of a really tight garage door (1-2 inches on each side with the mirrors extended).

The current summon feature only uses sensors, doesn’t it? So no matter AP you have, in fact, it will he the same.

It’s not trust me. I will add, I do have Xpel PPF on my front bumper as well as Ceramic Pro on the whole car. My last car had a full wrap though.

I did not know that, but it makes sense. Love my AP1 "Dumb Summon"

It seems my car tends to veer to the right often when pulling into my garage and is forced to stop or I manually kill it. I wonder if getting Xpel Ultimate and Ceramic Pro is effecting one of my front sensors? I doubt it but it’s performing so poorly, it makes me wonder if it’s defective or some other variable is going on here...

Going to get a video of it tomorrow.

Try getting a fleet footed volunteer to step in front of each sensor as you summon to see if one does not respond. A bad sensor is likely.

The OM does say not to put things on top of the sensors, BTW...

Great idea. However if I had a bad sensor, wouldn’t AP on freeways be impacted? It drives fine on the freeways.

I think AP uses the camera(s) mainly. But a defective one may not show up on the IC.

I just scheduled Mobile Service to come to my house in a couple of weeks to check it out.

I should note that the car never has an issue backing out. Perhaps it’s a problem with a front sensor.

I just called support and they were able to pull the logs. They weren’t able to see any failed sensors but they are seeing in the logs the STOP commands so perhaps that will help when the technician comes.
