Last I was there, looked like they were putting forms down to pour concrete for a transformer slab in one of the existing parking spots on the back of the island. I believe just to the left of that spool.

Edit - pad is poured. No transformer. No sign of a meter base. They Are working today. Misty and 30 degrees.

No one knows except Austin Energy. There is no transformer to power the Tesla equipment yet.
The supercharger pedestals look deceptively complete, but there are a number of potentially lengthy steps left.
  • The conduits are empty (need cables run from transformer to at least the white Tesla cabinets)
  • [Possibly] wiring from cabinets to charging pedestals (can't tell from the given photos)
  • Transformer needs to show up and be properly placed on footings
  • Transformer needs to be wired to meter and Tesla equipment
  • Meter needs to be installed and wired
  • Incoming power feed from a pole (likely) or buried cable (less likely) somewhere
  • Fuses on the power feed connected (activating the meter->transformer->...)
  • Tesla tech needs to check operation of equipment, recall previous workers if necessary
Each of these tasks is pretty much a different team with their own schedule, most tasks have a "meeting of the minds" of more than one team. Even though the pedestals and paving look pretty much complete, there is a lot left to do. The stars might align and several things happen in a short period of time, but it won't be done by "this Saturday".

Incoming feed is underground. Conduit is run to a nearby manhole.

Definitely needs wiring from the service. I saw them pulling from the cabinets to the pedestals.

Your right that there is still a long dance of coordinated moves required before opening.

What time frame do you all think? Making a trip to Spicewood here soon and it would be great to have this available outside of Austin.
Well the Westlake site was in this state for a few weeks before an inspection occurred and a meter got installed. But even after passing inspection and getting the meter the site still had/has no connection to the grid.
