Just by there. Nothing yet except signs saying they are waiting till Q1 2024 and SDGE to energize. Half the stalls still covered as well

I'm always skeptical of 'I spoke with guy at Tesla who said xxxxx' but:

Just dropped my car off at Miramar service and got to chatting with a guy who had just dropped off his Tesla. Turns out he works for Tesla and is responsible for Superchargers in the San Diego area. I gave him a hard time on Escondido not being open, and he passionately agreed. Said it's all SDG&E. First it was the transformers, which they now have. Now the wait is on a switch (pima or something like that). He said most likely 2Q.

Really nice guy. Said the focus going forward is building more on 8 East as well as along the 15.

He was not concerned about opening up chargers to 3rd party EVs given the $$ available to build more chargers that come along with opening up the network.

Probably a PMI (pad mounted interrupter). Most but not all utilities install them upstream of the transformer. It seems the backlog on transformers has eased up but now a lot of sites are waiting for these switches.
