Based off lintel from a Smithfield employee the new location may be 1105 Gum Branch rd Jacksonville NC 28540 looking for permit that location is being remodeled or updated

I will try to make sure the employee understands the difference between destination charger and Supercharger. But based on Supercharger locations in tha area is a good shoot at location. The town is adding chargers at the Greenway station hub but not Superchargers

Spoke to a a city official and it looks like they will be installing 8 superchargers at this location

These are the chargers being installed along the back of the Smithfield's parking lot relative to Gum Branch.

This was posted on a Jacksonville locals group a couple days ago.

Any thoughts as to the timing of this one being turned on? I'm heading to Emerald Isle on the 17th and this one would be perfect.

My guess is three weeks from last photo above, so NOT in time for your trip on the 17th. Even if the site looks "done", the local utility likely still needs to install the transformer and meter. Once those are in and the meter is energized, it's usually about a week away.

That's what I figured, but a man can dream. I'll swing by there on my way back on the 23rd and see what it looks like.

Looks like the new Smithfield's is a little way out from opening. Doubt they will allow Tesla to open this SuC until they receive their certificate of occupancy from the city.

The owner owns a Tesla and is a big fan. He also has plenty of space available at his restaurants for superchargers and he gets a lot of foot traffic bc of it.

Biggest gap on US-17 is now under 200 miles. 197.8 miles from New Bern, NC to Newport News, VA.
That route doesn't go near a Supercharger, so Williamston, NC or Suffolk, VA would help.
Nothing on Tesla findus on that route, but that is Wawa Land so you never now.
