Not sure when the name changed, but this used to be called the River Palms. I definitely did a double take as I'd never heard of the Laughlin River Lodge.

I guess I'm mildly surprised they didn't put it on the Arizona side in Bullhead City, but I'm not complaining.

Interestingly, for I-40 travelers who would like to avoid Needles, routing through Laughlin only adds about 5 minutes and the amenities are better than Needles for sure. It's a more complicated drive than the interstate though involving quite a few turns.

It also cuts distance a little and is a bit more efficient.
But there's a sizable gap from the faster Barstow to Laughlin, at 171 miles. Barstow to Needles is one of the larger gaps remaining at 147 miles.

We stopped by the Laughlin River Lodge the other day and looked all around all of the parking areas. There’s no evidence of any work having started, not even any dig alert markings. Fair amount of other construction work going on as they convert the old Palms into it’s new life though.

I saw some construction at the Laughlin River Lodge today, but it's not supercharger related. I checked the whole area and found nothing.

Underground electrical was approved a couple days ago.

My father knew him well. As a young kid he would take me out and show us around Laughlin. When he came back to minnesota, usually to the Steele county fair in Owatonna, he so generous, but always very down to earth.

I haven't seen it before but red fades the fastest in the sun, so it's possible they are deploying the grey signs for this type of climate.
