Supercharger - South Surrey, BC

BC Hydro needed to shut down power to Save-On/etc in order to... hook up the (green hydro) transformer? Weird, haven't heard that much from other supercharger installs.

Yes, seems like they had to add capacity to where power is distributed to the complex. Power was off to Save On and Staples. Colwin (who contract for Save On) was responsible for the generation setup. That generator was apparently burning through around 60 litres of diesel an hour! I wish I had gotten a look inside it. I heard Staples was quoted 19k for a generator and so decided against it. With all the perishables, Save On didn't have much of a choice and this is apparently a common occurrence for them (maintenance, etc.)

Its being reported that this SC has been vandalized - 6 pedestals damaged, with the charging cables stolen from 4.

Unfortunately yes, check a few posts above yours for some more info.
From the parking lot side (facing Save On) 3 on the far left have been stolen and one on the far right. The pictures I posted on the 17th were taken on the 13th and at that time I thought I had noticed the cables missing from some of them but neglected to take a closer look. Doh! It seems the wires were taken shortly before then (Jan 13).

Tesla is here and the vandalized chargers have been replaced!

Had a chat with them, BC Hydro is turned on and they should be turning on their end by the end of the day! I'll be sure to post an update.

Yeah the site of a tech with a Tesla is usually the last thing you see before activation. The only thing that gives me pause is the presence of the SUV as well. Makes me think they are doing more substantial work than normal (possibly due to the vandalism).

Power is on! The lights look great. Looks like they are setting something up on laptops connected to it via Ethernet. Should be soon now!
