It looks like the stalls and power distribution is set up, as is the power line from the street, but a power supply / meter cabinet and maybe a big transformer are still missing. Waiting for West Penn Power ...?

I took photos and was going to post this evening. David beat me to it though.

I talked to workers last weekend and they said 6-8 weeks for west penn to come out.

I doubt it will be that long. They back filled all the trenches.

Looks to me like the utility transformer needs set yet and some lines painted, and finish putting the screening up. I didn’t look closely at the dc transformers to see if the wires were landed. I’m assuming they were.

The local inspector is usually pretty responsive and will most likely be able to come out a day or two after he is called.

Stop and check all the Sheetz or Wawa sites on your route and you might discover one being built
They seem to be the popular spots these days.

The Sheetz at Rte 83 & 30 would be perfect, but nothing happening there.

Looks like everything is done except for the utility company. No utility transformer or meter yet. Everything else is buttoned up and final grading and seeding done.

Plenty of chargers available in town at local hotels and there also are some residential ones on PlugShare.

Thanks davidswelt - do you know if the hotels only allow charging if we stay there as I typically do a AirBnb when I come down.

There is a chademo charger in state college that usually works also.

itzSamit - I think the hotels are pretty much for customers only, or at least out-of-the-way (like the Country Inn & Suites).

You are welcome to e-mail me for a spontaneous Airbnb. Two bedrooms with private bathroom usually available in Park Forest, charge included. And no, it's not on Airbnb...

The overnight options are great (we found the Country Inn & Suites to be great during our PSU visit), but the whole point of the Superchargers is to make the pit stop measurable in minutes, not days.

I'm really hoping they manage to get this one on the map by Thanksgiving... my alternate routes will mean trip legs that are 20-40 miles longer and multiple charges. If this opens, it splits my trip right down the middle and we should be in and out in about 30 minutes max.
