Taking Delivery Today

I'm super excited to be taking delivery today of my black Model S 60D. The amazing part is after reading these forums for years and wondering if I would ever own a Tesla, things fell into place and I decided to order on Monday. While placing my order, as many of you may know, on the right hand side there was an ad showing an inventory car matched. And so, I clicked it and it was a 100% match for the options I was building. I clicked order and 4 days later, I'm taking delivery.

It didn't have a location on the car detail page. After ordering, I was told it was in FL (I'm in California) and may take up to a month to get here. Later, my sales rep called back and said that was a mistake and the car was less than 200 miles from me and I would get it within a week and a half.

The next day (Tuesday), my delivery specialist said it may be in on Thursday, in which case I could take delivery on Saturday. On Wednesday, he called back and said it was already here (48 hours after ordering) and I could come see it the next day (Thursday). I did that and after meeting him and seeing the car (they were detailing it), I left and he called me again to say I could actually pick it up on the next day, Friday.

While my delivery process is probably one of the fastest, I have waited a long time for the pieces to fall into place to be ready to do this. So, I still feel like I've waited a long time. But things have gone incredibly fast this week and I'm excited to join my fellow Tesla owners on the roads starting today!

See you at a Supercharger!

Congrats and welcome to the club. From someone who waited ~2 years for my first Tesla, I am happy that Tesla is now in a position to occasionally deliver in a week! This is a good thing.

Congrats! I am celebrating 3 months with my 60D. Its a wonderful car and I'm sure you'll still have a thrill of excitement far down the line each time you enter the cockpit (er, driver's seat).

The most exciting thing is that EAP is finally close to AP1 and delivering a steadier experience. I feel that big things are coming this summer as they begin the push towards FSD. Your car will just keep getting better and that's certainly the best thing about Tesla ownership.

Super excited for you. We are picking our car up today as well, although we've had about 2-1/2 months to adjust to the idea we'll be going EV and in such a beautiful car. Hubby isn't one to really want much but he's followed Tesla for years and on New Years Eve stopped into the showroom when he was in the neighborhood and called me to say he had picked up a few things including a Tesla. Hope you both have many years enjoying the ride. And it's happening on St. Pat's day so maybe that brings extra luck! Let us know how things go.

Congratulations! Don't forget to take a pic of the big screen that shows the miles on the car. It will never show that small number again :). I remember I had 9miles (pic below) and in just about 5months, I am already approaching 7,000. Wow - didn't realize I liked driving so much.

cheers

Congratulations !!!

We put down a deposit down in 2012 but decided to wait until Tesla did a major refresh then wait for a discounted "inventory" car. It took almost a year but we found the exact P85D we would have special ordered and took delivery the following week.

Glad to see you patience paid off too !!!
