We have been saturated with political marketing and social engineering to believe Americans are more divided now than any time in modern history. This is a function of the surge in social media use by professional marketing agencies and foreign intelligence services.
The truth is wildly different. Americans are more tolerant of our differences than any other time in US history. I was raised in the 1960's. There were at least seven major divisors of our nation:
- Racial equality: It was legal in some areas to discriminate. On top of that were personal prejudices. We had serious riots over this.
- Sexual equality: You had less human rights if you were female or gay. It was the law, not perception.
- Environmental concerns: You could not see 400 yards in Los Angeles some days. There were body counts on the nightly news. It affected your daily life, and there was no doubt as to the cause. Your lungs hurt. Your eyes burned. Weak people died from respiratory arrest.
- The Vietnam conflict: Poor kids, disproportionately minorities, entirely male, were sent to the other side of the planet to fight a war that most Americans no longer agreed with. Tens of thousands of young men were dying. Not a handful.
- Censorship: All our media outlets were heavily censored to promote a vision of America that was Wonder Bread - White and Wholesome.
- Capitalism vs Socialism: Once again in US history, there was a strong push by the left for the abolishment of capitalism.
- The Generation Gap: This term was born in the 1960's. Ideological differences between the <30 and >30 demographics was polarized. Young people were hippies and old people were squares.
Pretending we are reliving the 1960's is absurd. Those who are marketing it to you know that, but due to their constant onslaught of propaganda you cannot see where the real conflict is. Those with power are legally bending your mind using social media to enhance their power and wealth at your expense, yes you are paying them to do it to you. There are so many people out there with poor critical thinking skills that it works amazingly well.
How easy is it to bend intelligent people's minds? Do you believe lemmings run over a cliff and commit mass suicide? Why? Because a large entertainment/media company told you it was true. That idea will never die. Most college professors believe it and they are in charge of training the next generation of professors.
