Regarding the thread title, I wouldn't consider Readville to be part of Dorchester in any way, shape, or form. Hyde Park, Roslindale, and Mattapan are all closer, but really Readville is its own part of Boston. Boston has really turned that industrial area of Readville around. This industrial park used to be a huge railroad locomotive and car shop for the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad 100 years ago, employing thousands of people. It became derelict in the 1970s and more or less sat for a long time with only a few minor industrial clients and a Boston Schools bus depot (not counting the large industrial tenants next door to the site.) But as I say, the area has really turned around. If the concern to avoid is about visiting Readville itself, I would have absolutely no concerns at all.
