Tesla Coming Soon Supercharger map updates

Tesla has had this job posting up for a month, but only one applicant so far (via LinkedIn at least). This might be why Supercharger permits aren't moving as fast as they could be otherwise-

Permitting Specialist, Supercharger (Boston)

"Tesla seeks a Permitting Specialist for our Northeast Supercharger team. The Permitting Specialist will be the main accountable associate for permitting requirements originating from the design and development teams and will work directly with jurisdictions to bring projects through the permitting process."

There are actually several Supercharger development jobs posted in New England, which I think tells a story about the pace of expansion we should be seeing going forward... I really hope these are all growth positions, and not an indication that some of the Tesla Supercharging development team has moved on....

Utility Specialist, Supercharger (Boston)
Design Manager, Supercharger (New England)
Permitting Specialist, Supercharger (Boston)
Project Developer, Supercharger (Fairfield County)
Construction Manager, Supercharger (Vermont)

@tes-s @corywright

It appears that Tesla leaked the exact addresses of upcoming SC locations for the US and Canada a couple of days ago. We may want to use them to refine the map.

These are not 'new' locations; just more precise addresses.

From a New England perspective, I think we've got everything covered already. For the rest of the US, Canada and beyond where the coming soon addresses were briefly revealed I know the data disclosed in that brief leak is being looked at to match up with publicly available site development / permitting info for updates to supercharger.info. A number of the sites in that list were already known and on the supercharge.info map - but not all of course. We've also found some of the addresses in that coming soon leak appear to be placeholder addresses in the area under consideration, and not valid sites. Orange, CT was one I noted - the address in the leak appears to actually be the West Haven, CT police station. Probably not where Tesla would build a supercharger.

Tesla Find-US map is now showing the locations of the Q4 2022 Supercharger voting winners with a new star icon.

In the lower 48 states, I spy:
Dalton, GA
Sylva, NC
Big Bear Lake, CA
Morro Bay, CA
Lake Okeechobee, FL

South Korea, Germany, Italy, and Hungary have some winning locations with a star icon as well.

The almost-complete Danvers, MA location is not yet on the map however.

When they went in to correct the Amesbury pin to reflect the it actually being Danvers, they probably pressed the wrong button.
Tesla has had it's share of data issues on the find-us page this past year... The Dedham supercharger (and service center) pin now shows in Hingham, even though the address when you click on it is still Dedham.

Hmmm…
Voting for more superchargers in CA shouldn’t be allowed, they are building them every 5 miles apart there already! 😁 (please, let the rest of us have a shot at the top 5!)

Where and When Lake Okeechobee, FL. I have tried search county records for that Wawa on the Main road. Okeechobee would be so clutch for backroad Orlando to South Florida drivers. Was excited when they were going to do Yeehaw Junction and then backed out. Where is my Okeechobee charger!!!

You might have better luck in the FL Forum - This is the New England forum.

Thought I'd post a status update on this thread. Looks like Tesla has altered the target opening dates for all existing New England coming soon pins to 2024. As of this post they have not added any new pins. Sites listed as coming soon in 2024 as of this post include:

Dorchester, MA - site not yet officially disclosed
Provincetown, MA - construction complete
Epsom, NH - construction complete
Portsmouth, NH - site known but no sign of host c-store construction
Newport, ME - site known - on hold
Southington, CT - construction complete (awaiting utilities)
Orange, CT - site not yet known
Stamford, CT - site not yet known

There are multiple other sites permitted and/or already under construction with some nearly done that do not have a coming soon pin. Suggested resource for that information is supercharge.info with links to TMC threads for each map pin.

Tesla just updated the Findus map with a bunch of new coming soon locations in New England. Almost all of them are projects already under construction (many near completion). Here are the current coming soon locations as of 3/11/2024:

Looks like Tesla made a mistake this evening in updating the FindUs map. Most of the New England superchargers under construction changed to being listed as open, with vehicle charging types denoted (Tesla, NACS or MagicDock). Circled all the sites on the map below. Looks like all new sites will be enabled for non-Teslas with NACS at a minimum. From this, it appears the following not yet open sites will be getting MagicDock:

Vergennes, VT (posts are still covered - so this is new info if true)
Dedham, MA 100 Providence Hwy (posts still covered - this is new info if true)
Canton, MA (known)
Foxborough, MA (known - no longer showing on the findus map - disappeared yesterday while Tesla was there working on the site)
