As part of a number of updates to its buying portal, Tesla has excited a lot of Model S 60D owners by dropping the price the price to extend range to 75-kWh capacity for $2,000, down from $9,000.

Since Tesla is killing the 60-kWh Model S model going forward, a new 75 is now the least expensive vehicle in the S family, starting at $69,500. The 75 D now costs $74,500.

Other updates include glass roof and automatic rear liftgate as standard equipment on the entry-level Model S. The Model S 75, however, will lose the option for air suspension. An upgrade to the Model S 90D is now required for that feature.

Current owners of the 70-kWh version of the Model S can also upgrade to 75-kWh capacity at a discount, now $500 instead of $3,500.

Model X buyers can also now choose a $3,000, 20-inch,“Sonic Carbon” option and a second-row center console in the six-seat configuration.
