Years back many had suggested NUMMI somewhat as a "pipe dream", but now it is real!
At first the whole idea was dismissed as absurd, including Tesla saying it was way more space than they needed.
But Tesla seems to be a 'larger than life' sort of company.

My thoughts exactly. Would normally get white sedan and red sports car but since I went with the Arctic White for the Roadster, I'm thinking this color is the way to go. I hope they offer it for the Model S. Wonder what it looks like with the forged black wheels too.

A series of questions about the factory and its progression.

Does anyone know the time frame for delivery and installation of the new presses?
After the delivery and install of the presses, how long would it take to begin forming metal at the factory?
Has anyone seen any pictures of the welding robots?
How many robots will be used to put together the panels?
Has Tesla Motors talked about the total time for producing a Model S?
Has Tesla Motors talked about its supply chain partners and there readiness?

Does anyone know the time frame for delivery and installation of the new presses? The process has begun with the Model S build.

After the delivery and install of the presses, how long would it take to begin forming metal at the factory? Not long... It sounds like the presses will be firing up by years end.

Has anyone seen any pictures of the welding robots? We are still waiting for more pictures of the build robots.

How many robots will be used to put together the panels? Tesla Motors did not provided a total number of robots that will be used to construct the sheet metal of the Model S.

Has Tesla Motors talked about the total time for producing a Model S? No not yet.

Has Tesla Motors talked about its supply chain partners and there readiness? Info pending.
