Congrats! I've seen your posts a lot and it's amazing you waited this long with your history of posts. You must be super excited! I've been patiently waiting for the right time and the MR put me in the buy territory. Eventhough per tesla it isn't guaranteed that I get the full credit but it was only a few days off from that 10/15 date. Sooooo here's the hoping.

I am day one online too and placed order on Friday, EST. I have a used S for a year now too so I hope I get it delivered by end of year!

Good luck and god speed!

PS - I did not OPT for EAP. Does anyone know if I can still add that for$5k when delivery specialist calls me? Or has that ship sailed...

Good luck and god speed!

I am a day one, online reservationist. I was waiting for the model 3SR. BUT, the model 3MR really fits my needs better and I am now guarantied the full tax credit. I placed my order tonight:

3MR, 18" aeros, basic black, PUP, wht. int., EAP = $51K
Delivery in 4-6 weeks (I expect 4 weeks, but hope it is 6 weeks due to vacation plans)
Delivery at Cathedral City Serv. Ctr.
Car name - "TUX" (tuxedo)

i realize that the 3MR may not be the "best bang for the buck," but I am more interested in what is best for me and not worry about a few bucks one way or the other.

IN MY OPINION, I think that either the 3MR or the 3SR will become a unicorn with a short model run. But who knows with Tesla's wild marketing methods. Regardless, I am happy that the 3MR is available now because it ticks all my boxes. And I will get all the Fed., State, and Utility rebates and credits which amount to $10,450 in my neck of the woods.

Teslaquila shots are on my tab tonight. Drink up enthusiasts!
Congrats!!!

Our stories sound similar. I've been there from the beginning (following since 2009), a previous owner of a 2013 Model S. And I was number 7 in line at our Tesla store on Launch morning of the Model 3, but was waiting on the (affordable) white interior, and then October 15 hit. I put my order in for a Dual Motor on Tuesday the 16th. No EAP.

You can't really add the second motor later, but you can always add EAP any time, both before final delivery, or after purchase. The $1000 penalty (from $5k to $6k) happens only after you take possession. It's just a software switch in your account / config file in your car.

UPDATE: My Tesla account now says 6 - 10 week delivery. No VIN yet.
Where do they show this on your account? Mine just says that they are drafting my contract and that they will reach out to me when delivery nears. Before ordering, the site showed "6 - 10 weeks" for the MR; but after placing the order, I don't see any more mention of dates. I ordered a week ago when the MR was first announced and I'm a day-one reservationist.

You are correct but mine is apparently a bit different. When I ordered, mine said 4 -6 weeks, but after ordering, My Tesla account says nothing about delivery date. However, if I go to My Tesla, I still have the "edit design" link (since I haven't been assigned a VIN yet) and there it says 6 - 10 weeks for the 3MR.

Today my ticket got punched!
Verbally placed order with Tesla Sales staff, here in Portland ,on Tuesday October 16th, finished the online submission on the 18th.

Got the email from Tesla mothership at noon today, and my account was updated with a delivery date for next Saturday Nov 3rd. No VIN was posted, but emailed back and they had it. So now it's lock and load time.

Note, this is my second Tesla baby, and each time it's just as exciting!!!!

Wait, you have a delivery date for next Saturday for medium range Model 3?

So, my story is similar, but with a little different ending.
I too was a day one reservation holder, along with my son. I, however, was also a MS owner (now going on 5 years, and 132K miles).
I was going to get whatever model 3 was available, as my choice. As an existing owner, I was moved to the near the beginning of the line- well, before the non-owners anyway.
It arrived in January of this year. Immediately, my son informed me that the lease on his I3 had expired, and he was scrambling to find a way to get to work. Well, what does a father do?
Of course, I gave him my car. And I happily did so. Later, in September, his car came (which I accepted). Well, in between the time of both deliveries, the option to order the M3P became available, and I quickly went for it, as well as all the upgrades. The car was (and remains) simply amazing! Well worth the wait.
Now comes the weird part. I was totally happy with it, and driving it was a very exhilarating experience! After about two weeks, I get a call from my local showroom in Springfield, NJ, and am told that there is a problem with my car, so I need to return it.

Now, I have been driving it, and am certain that there is absolutely nothing wrong, so I bring it in, as requested.
I am shown that there is a problem. It was so minor, that I did not even notice it. However, it was all over the car, and every body panel was affected. The issue was small specks of dust had been kicked up during the painting process (called "fisheyes" for anyone who is the auto painting business). They insisted that this car could not be allowed out in street as is, and would give me a MS P85, as a loaner, while they repaint the entire car- all at no charge.
So, sadly, I left it, and drove away in the MSP85. It too, was a blast, as my MS is only a 60, so I got to enjoy the P version, and much better range.
However, even eating too much ice cream gets kind of old, so after two weeks, I inquired "When will my car be done?" I was told "not yet".
Another two weeks goes by, and I am getting a little antsy...

Eventually, they call to tell me to come in. I am not getting a warm fuzzy...
I get asked "What will it take to get you into a new MX?" Well, its not like I had not considered it, as I had indeed purchased an MX last year, but had to back out when the payment was simply more than I could afford. After all, at that time, I still had a payment on my MS.
And not only that, I wanted my M3P back!

All I can relate here is that I was treated extremely well, and was given a very good offer, so I traded in my M3P, and drove home shortly thereafter in a brand new MXP100! With free lifetime Supercharging, as I got in right under the cutoff!
Now, the M3P was very fast, but this thing is a MONSTER!
But just looking at the shear size of it, compared to the M3, and you would think that there is no way it can be that fast. Trust me, it is quicker than the M3P!
Bottom line, I am very happy. And, I even get two tax credits- one for each car! They simply do things the right way. Go TESLA!

I ordered the same day with the same specs except my color is midnight silver. I’m also a day one reservation holder, but was quoted 6-10 weeks. I’m in MI, so maybe that’s the difference in delivery timeline.

Steve we have met. Remember, you used my house in your movie "My Blue Heaven" about 20 years ago. You really liked my Aussie dog Sage, who you played with between scenes.
