Yes but the video was just releasedThis happened in October 2018.
I'm curious about the injuries sustained (there must be some) by the reckless driver. None of the articles I've seen mention any, but it seems unlikely anyone could hit another car at nearly 100 MPH, even in a Tesla, without being at least seriously injured themselves. The Model S handled the crash amazingly well.
The video looks like the Tesla came off very well, stayed planted and bounced the SUV like a ping pong ball.I'm curious about the injuries sustained (there must be some) by the reckless driver. Again it looked like the torque was continuing AFTER the first impact. The video looks like the Tesla came off very well, stayed planted and bounced the SUV like a ping pong ball.
Probably deceiving though, it must have been pretty wild in the Tesla too.
My guess is at the moment of initial impact, the Tesla driver’s foot was on the accelerator. Impact slows the Tesla down a good bit but the driver’s foot continues forward, applying more acceleration.Again it looked like the torque was continuing AFTER the first impact.
The SUV is pushed TWICE.
A "normal" crash looks different.
