Speaking of AI Day...

Most people don't understand the immense potential of AI to solve serious problems, or the fact that Tesla (with Dojo-as-a-service) will be a leader in the AI revolution.

Here's one example from a non-Tesla team: Their AI designed an enzyme to recycle PET plastic, which constitutes 12% of global solid waste, according to the video. Breakthroughs in recycling and renewable energy might actually rescue our long-suffering planet.

May 2022 - US Auto Sales - Ugly

Well, they won't do it, but if Elon wanted to start another epic 5-part trilogy, it could be here. Since we know May sucked in China, but perhaps was a record at Fremont and had an ever-increasing number from Austin, what if they released some short statement that read something like, "Tesla's US May sales rose 27% year over year (making that number up), the only major automaker in the US to record an increase (not giving Genesis major automaker status yet)." Maybe part 2 is details on stock split, part 3/4 are when Berlin/Austin hit 1,000 cars/day production, and part 5 is FSD v11 release (really dreaming here).

Oh please...

I didn't realize Honda was doing quite so horribly. Anyone know where they sit with EV development? They are one brand I don't recall hearing anything about.
For some strange reason the JDM brands have been in denial about EV's and what's driving the push behind them. It's actually rather ironic considering they were really heavy in the PHEVs early on. Honda does have a great looking BEV in the Honda E, it looks great but the electrics seems a bit behind. It's so cute looking but it's not in the US market. They've basically got nothing in the works till 2024 and they're partnering with GM, barf.

Tesla Pauses Hiring, Musk Says Need to Cut Staff by 10%: Reuters Bloomberg.com · 19 mins ago

And here's the reaction in Berlin:

Is this email authentic? How do you ramp Berlin, Austin, and Shanghai while also decreasing staff by 10%? Seems odd.

Looks like he should start by firing the person who keeps leaking internal mails...
10,000 people might be fired, and loads more will fear for their job before all terminations have taken place. I don't blame any human feeling emotions about this and leaking an e-mail after hearing such news. I'm getting kind of tired of the seemingly (to the outside world) one-man show Musk is running. You should not fire people only for the reason you have a "super bad feeling" about something. Substantiate the news with facts, empathy, and let people who are more skilled at human to human interactions tell the bad news.

These articles often have links to a snippet image of the email, so I'm still hesitant on believing this.

Of course it’s legit. Pretty weird to question it, honestly.

Musk is practically a QANON conspiracy-addled right wing fascist at this point. Sad to watch someone so powerful radicalized in real time over the last 2 years or so. Very sad.

He’s doing real damage to the brand, recruitment, morale, and its operational capabilities, and embroiling it in countless dumb distractions, some of which are in direct contradiction to Tesla’s mission (Bitcoin, no remote work). The sooner he resigns from Tesla the better.

It is not newsworthy that Musk thinks the world’s economy is screwed. We have known that for some time. But 10 percent of the workforce is quite significant… if it’s true.

And of cause the media spins it as it’s a crisis in the economy of Tesla and not the world…

Tesla’s owner going batshit off the deep end is a Tesla crisis.

Tesla has hired people at an extremely fast pace in the last few years, and it's impossible to do that without accumulating quite a few bad / redundant employees. An economic slowdown is a perfect excuse to go through the company in one fell swoop and cut all the fat. They'll be back to hiring again soon after.

When look closely the "leaked" email about end of work from home and this 10% workforce cut fiasco (awaiting for the full unedited version or explanation/followup from Elon) is just perfect timing. Plus when these work from home ends we probably sees those "leak email" possibly disappeared and work efficiently will picked up once again.
