Took delivery today. The process was easy and stress-free. I spent about 30 minutes looking it over in the North Houston parking lot. There were a few minor blemishes...a few scratches on the aluminum window trim, one of the door hinge bolts looks like it was torqued after it was painted, a few smudges of adhesive on the roof glass...but no deal breakers. Might post pictures tomorrow if I find anything unusual. Overall positive experience, so far.

Soon to be first time Tesla owner here. Ordered a Blue/Black MYPUP, 21’s, five seats and no FSD on June 8th. Got my VIN on the 9th, and was told to schedule my delivery for between June 18th-22nd. Not exactly the 4-8 weeks that the website listed lol.

As a first time owner, it’s been quite hectic/confusing trying to get everything in order prior to shipment/delivery of the vehicle so quickly. Communication with Tesla has been spotty at best, although perhaps that’s at least partially due to it being the end of the quarter.

I’ve received a few texts telling me that my delivery window has been pushed out, and then it was pushed up, and then to totally disregard the dates for the time being (delivery is currently scheduled for the 22nd). So no idea when I’ll actually get it, but it’s been a fun rollercoaster so far!

Got a call yesterday that my car was ready to go, they were just waiting on the loan to be finalized. That should be done today, but I’ll be out of town until Sunday. Luckily the delivery manager in Plano was way more understanding of my situation than anyone else I had previously spoken to, and I’ll be picking it up Sunday night. 9 days from placing my order to the car being ready (slightly worried about that timeline).

Update on my situation: I got a call from the supervisor in the delivery team and I was able vent to her about the whole messed up delivery process I've gone through. She admitted that my trade should have been reassessed before the final paperwork was sent to me for signatures on 6/4 and not 5-7 days before I take delivery. I also vented to her about how those of use that ordered in March of 2019 and put down $2500 got treated worse than folks that ordered in May and put down $100. I said that Tesla should at least recognize those of use that funded the start of the production of this model some how. Instead they just ignore the fact. I also vented about the referral program and how it was unfair. I would like to recognize a friend that helped me decide to get a Tesla (at this point I'm not holding it against her ;)) and I would like her to get something for promoting the product. I told them I wasn't trying to get something but wanted my friend to get something. I told them I would be happy to talk to more of the leaders there about my experience. Overall I feel better but they still didn't step up and do anything significant. My trade value stays as is, but they did check to see if it could be adjusted. I think their trade evaluation department is just focused on insuring Tesla doesn't loose money on trade ins and the don't give a rat's backside about how this goes with the customer.

She did tell me that I could continue to provide feedback to Tesla at [email protected]. I'm going to write them a nice long letter about all this.

The only good thing she told me last night is my car was being unloaded from the truck at the Houston delivery center. So I'll be calling today to see if I can validate I can pick it up on the date set on my account page, Saturday 4pm.

Looks like your car beat mine here! I plan to send a email as well. At least the wait is almost over.

Pretty new to the forum so thought I would add in my situation. I have an order placed 02/2020 for LR AWD, MSM/White Interior/20" Inductions/Tow Hitch. Originally got assigned a delivery specialist in March and profile completed in March. I was informed that since I placed my order before the shut down and profile complete since March, I would be receiving a car before the end of Q2. I am following the Facebook pages and the Reddit pages and seeing all these texts that have gone out about production and expected delivery times. Well I have not received any of those and my delivery specialist is useless when it comes to information except for "Your profile has been complete since March, so you SHOULD receive a car by the end of June". So were 12 days out from the end of the month and by reading about the trains and lack of transporters, I think my order has been put back until after the EOQ push. Been very frustrating seeing Canada orders filled when there are many others still waiting in the US. Anyone else here in the same situation?

I was a bit surprised that the car was here. Could be it was on a different train and got unloaded before yours. Maybe they arrive on different trains at that hub in Arkansas and then are sorted out and put on trucks for the final leg. Who really knows... mystery process...

I just hope the quality isn't horrible. I'll tolerate some cosmetic stuff but I really don't want to see huge misalignments and bad paint flaws. Some of the stuff I've been seeing is scary.

Not to be petty about this but some of us put our orders in almost a year before you did and we still don't have our cars. I'm saying this to say that there is no real logic in how Tesla is delivering their cars right now. It might get better now that we are past the factory shutdown and that Tesla is working through the backlog. What I have learned is that you can't depend on just the information on the account page and the delivery folks in Nevada are all but useless. I've complained to Tesla but no real action on their part to make things better. I'm slated to get my car this weekend so we will see how that goes. All I can advise is keep pressing them. Once you get a VIN, you might want to contact your local delivery team as I had more success at getting details from them than the folks in Nevada.

No, I dont think its petty. I would actually be more frustrated than I already am had I put down $2500 and still no vehicle so I am thankful in that sense. At this point I am really questioning what the point is of pre-ordering a Tesla if they're not going by pre-order dates. But I will continue to wait. Just going mental checking the source code in the meantime.

Similar situation, but I have not received any of the texts about 1-2 weeks, 10 days or by the end of Q2. Placed order in Feb. LR AWD Blue/White 20". My loan is expiring on 06/24. I considered placing a new order because I have seen several post about orders placed May-June receiving a VIN. I wish I would have just selected "paying cash" and updated it to "financing" once I received a VIN. That would have kept the impending loan expiration pressure off. But, who knows. Maybe I will receive a VIN within the next 6 days.

I definitely feel for everyone that placed an order way back that hasn’t received a car or delivery info by this point. I fully expected to be waiting more towards the 8 week time frame that was listed online, but somehow had a VIN 1 day after ordering. I’m not sure if there’s a surplus of Blue/Black performance models (there seems to have been quite a few delivered so far) or if mine was maybe a return of some sort. Crossing my fingers that that’s not the case. I had actually preordered a Blue/White performance Y on the day they went live, but canceled it a few weeks later.

Their order/delivery situation is terrible. I got a text at the beginning of the month about my car being built in 10 days, yet I still don’t have a VIN, delivery date, or any more info. My advisors also just say I should get the car by June. I would prefer to not receive these text as they’re just setting false expectations and making me more annoyed by the whole process. I was expecting to wait, but it’s hard to understand how they are still so disorganized and bad at communicating with customer after all these years.

I think the delivery specialist reaching out and letting me know I should receive a car by the end of June is also the frustrating part for me and why I am venting. Its the false expectation that is annoying me. But hey, at least you got a text which should give you some more hope than I have for mine with no text.

Check-in again on this thread when you get a VIN. I bet its our White Interiors and our location holding it up. Betting our cars will be on the same train together lol.

Definitely the white interior is part of the issue...doesn't explain the issues with contact and expectations being set...feel for everyone having issues with getting their car. I was lucky that I wasn't particularly anxious to get it so was surprised when got the call from Nevada and the car being ready to ship as soon as payment was made. Loving it so far...hope it arrives in good condition...

My situation was not good and I requested to talk to the supervisor of my delivery representative. The supervisor mentioned an e-mail address for providing Tesla feedback. So, you might want to let Tesla know what you think about this process. I think the more direct feedback they get the better the chances are they will change things. I was told to send it to [email protected]. I'm planning on giving them a full accounting of my ordering/delivery/quality experience.

Talked to rep yesterday on White/White PUP, 21" and FSF. Austin Local handoff scheduled for 7-11, but rep said off Train in Memphis yesterday...waiting on car hauler. Thinking is 10 days: transport via hauler, wash/detail (?), then delivery. Maybe by end of June. On order since 3-14-2019. Will drive car 3 blocks after delivery to PPF installer for full auto PPF, Ceramic and full glass tinting. Miss the V-12 Mercedes, but new Tesla should be quicker.

The post-delivery plan is exactly what I did...Austin Detailing? Hearing the transports are part of the delays due to COVID, but mine made it to Austin in ~5-6 days after funding.

I'm in a pretty similar situation. Placed order in January 2020, which means I put down $2,500. Still waiting on a VIN. I originally ordered Black/White interior/PUP w/ 21" wheels; I then changed it to MSM PUP in Feb; and then changed it again in March to MSM/White Interior/20" inductions - the same as yours minus the tow hitch. I haven't received a call from a local delivery specialist yet, but the Nevada folks called me quite a bit around the middle of May through the beginning of June to finish my account information. I hadn't completed everything yet because I was trying to get them to accept a CarMax quote for a trade-in. Long story short: because I emailed them 8 days after I received the Carmax quote and not 7 days after, they wouldn't accept their offer (this was near the end of May). Tesla's offer was $5k less and that's what they were sticking to. I declined the trade-in with them and am just going to move forward with CarMax. The Nevada delivery specialist said I should receive the car by the end of this month but given it's now 6/18 and I haven't heard anything further it's not looking promising. I'm also going crazy looking in the source code multiple times per day and still nothing.

From what I gathered from the delivery folks, my car was sitting there for some reason. It could be that you made the cut on the first transporter and they needed another one for mine. In any event, I’m hopeful that there are no major issues. I can deal with a few scratches that can be easily touched up and hidden under matte ppf. But gaps in the glass roof and misaligned rear hatch/doors/hood/lights would be concerning. The guy running the teslanomics YouTube channel got a Y where the hatch doesn’t lock in place. Yikes.

Yeah, I have a ton of anxiety over the whole quality thing. I've never had to worry about that on any other car I have ever purchased. The irony is that this is the most expensive car I have ever purchased. At times I think I need my head examined. Guess I have Teslaqualitaphobia.
