Ordered 6/4 got my VIN 07/02 16607 Odometer says 15 mi om MVPA but I don't know if that means anything. Tesla Inside Delivery Specialist says it is built. Want to be sure before I fund, buy ins etc. MVPA has no way to electronically sign it. What are y'all seeing? Seems like when I bought my Model 3 there were electronically signable forms.

Hey Texans Model Yers who've already gotten their car...

Some backstory for my experience so far:

Can you give me an estimate the amount of time between funding your car with a VIN and receiving the car in Texas? I funded my vehicle about a week ago and have had the VIN for 2 weeks now. I had a delivery appointment for Tuesday for a week and no one reached out to me until 15 minutes after the scheduled time to tell me they are pushing the date back another week. I called in and someone told me the car was still at the factory and *might* be here in a week. Since I've been following this thread it seems like I should expect longer than a week to get the car if it hasn't even left California. I'm particularly annoyed right now because they set up my expectation for delivery on Tuesday and I now will probably have to wait an additional 3 weeks.

How long would most of you say it took for the car to be delivered once you funded and/or the car left California?

I ordered 5/26, it was 8-12 weeks ETA then. A week later they changed it to 4-8 weeks. Towards the end of June I emailed and asked Tesla if I should expect the delivery based on the 4-8 weeks or the 8-12 weeks when I first ordered, since I had not heard anything back. They said it was 'first come first serve'. On 6/19 I received a text saying they were preparing for delivery and to finish the steps on the web page. I had previously sent several emails to my Tesla support reps about being stuck on the financing part - it would ask me to fill out an application with Alliant Credit, which I had already done and was approved, but the web site did not see this. I asked if that would delay and they said no, its first come first server. About a week and a half later after not seeing any changes I emailed again, this time my Tesla 'finance' advisor responded and asked how much I financed. I replied, heard nothing back for another week, so I emailed again. Again, my Tesla finance advisor asked how much I was going to finance (... I already responded to that). I didn't hear back so on 6/30 I called Tesla and was transferred to a Houston location, the salesperson wanted to get me in a car THAT DAY, but financing was not lined up because Tesla had not responded to my previous emails about getting stuck on the finance part. The salesperson that answered the call, whom I informed about the problem, fixed the issues in mere seconds, I refreshed the Tesla website and it was fixed. The next day I was assigned a VIN.

And now more in response to your question:
I have since made payment transfer to bank and I am waiting on delivery, I have no been given a delivery date etc. When I asked the local salesperson he looked up my VIN and said it was still on the factory line (18XXX) and I should expect it towards the end of the month. He hinted that it is kind of good I am getting one that is just not getting made, he said they are slowing down to fix 'some issues they have had'.

I also had some weird issues on my order, but calling a salesperson over the phone fixed the issues within minutes. So good to know in the future.

Also good to hear they’re going back and fixing any issues. They said my car was built in June, it’s a 22xxx VIN, so I’d be ok if they went over it once more so it didn’t have any issues. I’m still within the original 8 weeks they quoted me and don’t have a lot of places I need to drive right now anyway. But I’ll definitely be making excuses to get on the road once I get the Y. Good luck with your delivery! I’m sure it’ll be great

Update on my situation. Had a couple service appointments set up recently. Had my Homelink module installed on Sunday. That went well and as a byproduct I was able to confirm my heat pump had the insulation installed. I had a service appointment at the North Houston service center on Monday. That turned out to be what the service advisor called a "show and tell". We reviewed my list of issues and since some parts had to be ordered we deferred the actual work until all the parts are in to keep from having to make multiple appointments. There were three items they needed to order and he said they are currently swamped so it would be a few weeks before they could rebook the appointment. Right now it is for the 16th but that all depends on if all the parts come in. BTW, the homelink works great. Better than my old Acura's. I have set it for the automatic functions yet but the manual ones work well and the range is better.

The other MPVA included the 20" wheels, and a trailer hitch at least.
I think the same last name and an address in Tx may have contributed to the mistake. I just wanted to warn people because they only expect you to sign and return the signature page in the MVPA. That page has no identifying info tying it to any particular MVPA until you sign it and write your name on it. I think it should at least have the reservation number on it.
My previous Tesla purchase used verisign or some such to sign and return the whole document. Much more professional imo.

To follow up on my 5/28 ordered Model Y, my delivery rep responded today and was apparently out of the office for the past 8 days (with no backup?!?). Apparently in Texas insurance they can not get the temporary plates without insurance being provide with the Tesla VIN on it, with an expiry of less than 60 days. This is odd because I have never had to provide insurance with the new car on the policy, as long as my policy covers the car I drive, and I've had 6 different new cars in the past 14 years. I have been with the same insurance company for over 15 years now, I have 6 months policies and of course the current six month term will expire within 60 days, so adding the Tesla to that policy won't work. They say that I need to upload insurance ASAP because it takes 48-72 hours to request tags, so I guess the car is close to delivery, but I wish I would have known this a week or two ago to deal with it on a non ASAP basis.

Ordered on 6/4 without a trade in
Gotta VIN assigned 7/6. XXXX23969
Now I want to trade in my Model 3, so have reached out to the advisor.
How to find out if my car is here or not?
Mine is White on white with 19" wheels

The only luck I have had is to call Tesla early in the morning and get transferred to your local showroom/gallery or whatever they call it. The people that answer there seem to be able to look up your account with just your phone number and handle things very quickly, but my experience sending out emails is about 50% response, and of htose only about 10% response within 2 days.
