The Backup camera and the rain....

Is ithe backup camera bothering anyone else in the rain or is it just me? The protruding lens collects water drops and then they stay on, thus rendering the camera view useless. In fact the camera lens acts as the water dripping off point for whole trunk. Do we have a design defect here?

Not just you. There was a long thread a while ago where folks discussed it and tried to come up with solutions. Rain X didn’t help as I recall. I think someone cobbled together a little shield, and there was discussion of hacking a camera rinse system from another car (Nissan?) to work on a Tesla.


Maybe someone can 3D print a lens hood?
