Wow, MY innocent question asking if “RMN” means “remanufactured” is cited as fact in that article despite numerous later posters confirming it doesn’t.
The article says "but another owner posted an invoice that suggested".
I don't see confirmation in later posts, just guesses. It can easily be a redesigned parts which they make out of the returned units. Hopefully with the new material.
This is pretty common in the auto industry. When a car gets a new engine or transmission for example. Most likely it was a defective part, sent back to the factory and got rebuilt. The parts that can be rebuilt often have "remanufactured" or similar notes in the original parts catalog and the dealer asks the buyer to return the core.
