Things I will miss

Don't get me wrong, just because I will miss having these things doesn't mean that I will love my Tesla any the less; what I will be getting vastly outweighs what I will be missing.

Map database on board
Seat cooler
Steering wheel heater
CD player
Side mirror dimming

Most of my music is in the cloud, so if we're out of cellphone range, I can't get it on the phone and then streamed to the car; hence CD player. (At least I didn't include cassette player.)

From what I've been reading here, the map database is from Google, and if you're in a cellphone blind spot, you lose that data until you reestablish mobile connections.

I could do that, but that involves downloading them from the cloud and copying them to the drive (after formatting the drive to have both music and TeslaCam folders).

I’ve never had a warning on a mirror, and I can see the appeal, but it didn’t take me long to get used to glancing at the display during the lane change scan. Red stuff will appear if you’re moving into space/time that is already occupied.

I see the appeal of seeing that display; I liked it on my test drive, but it does involved splitting one's attention between the display and the side view mirror. I would like to have both

Add to my list a built-in garage door opener. Yes, I know there's one available for $300, but a built-in one like in many other cars would have been nice, even if one does have to push a button.

An F-150 truck has all of those things. I miss them too, but am not going to go back to ICE for them. As Tesla gets more competition it is going to have to raise its game with interior niceties, so maybe in the future...

No, as I said, I'm getting a Tesla, and since this is the Model 3 forum, I'm getting a Tesla 3. That doesn't mean that I won't miss those items, but the M3 is worth the loss.

I'm pretty sure map database is on board. When I got my car upgraded to HW3 it had to re-download the maps and my cars touchsceen wouldnt display the map until it was done downloading.

I believe the map data base (street names, how to navigate from A to B) is downloaded to the car. So the car can navigate without cell service.

But the pretty satellite images are downloaded on the fly as you drive around.
