Time of delivery

How did you find out your car was ready? I ordered 4/27 and it’s been silent for a week. And I’m in NJ.

You are still waiting for delivery @davezforce? I thought I saw a post where you got VIN and delivery date? I have to imagine you should be getting something literally any minute. Seems the lead time on notifications of deliveries has been about 6 weeks. You ordered 3 days before I did, so would have assumed we would be getting deliveries about the same time.

They told me I had a vin. But when they added the carbon that was supposed to be added on 4/27 it didn’t get added till 5/29 and they told me they were awaiting a new vin. Idk. It’s so confusing. I think they (my owner advisor) screwed up somehow and it seems like the order has now started on 5/29. The owner advisor has been cc’d in every email the delivery specialist in ca has sent and he doesn’t even respond to his emails. It’s terrible.

*sugar* I am sorry man. That is one of the reasons I did not refuse my car when it did NOT have the carbon that I had added 1 week after my original order. It was not worth the wait and maybe missing out on the tax break that drops in half next month. I can get the interior wrapped in carbon (which may actually look better). They did give me a year of free supercharging, but as little as I plan on using it, it really is not worth much.

I mean I guess there is still time to receive the car before the 30th. If not, I’ll try and raise hell and see if they will take the price that I lost from the rebate off the car, or throw something in. I mean I did order in April with a projected May delivery. They would have to do something to make it right.

This story sounds familiar, I ordered a Blue Performance Model X with 22’s, Carbon Fiber, FSD, Cream interior on May 1st, then got an update on May 29th which changed seat color to Black and I still don’t have a VIN! Sales manager promises me it will be here before end of the month, frustrating.

So estimated delivery in May, might make it by July, good news?

The level of frustration is here is off the charts. Assuming I get mine, don't plan on buying a new Tesla again for 8 years at least. I should have known better this time around. A solid month of regret since selling my last one.

This model of a Model X will have to do for now. Still no info in when my Standard Range Model X will be allowed to be delivered in New York. My assumption, based on info I have have been given, is that once NY State approves the Standard Range Battery for delivery, I will then have to wait until I get matched to a vehicle. meh!

Has anyone else that called Tesla HQ to get their VIN had their call dropped repeatedly when the system is supposed to finally transfer the call to a human? I started calling around 6pm EST, so I assume they're still open/taking calls.

I started getting texts from Tesla yesterday prompting me to schedule my delivery appointment for today or tomorrow as my vehicle (ordered 4/27) is supposedly almost ready for delivery (currently in transit though), however I still don't have my VIN (not even in the source code).

Same thing happened and is still happening to me except they assigned the same car to me twice now with the wrong interior. I do have to say though that my local owner advisor has been quick to respond to all of my texts. I feel bad for him that he has to try to fix this mess. Definitely not his fault.

I am in the same boat. I also had my interior selection changed without my intervention and then I had it corrected by my delivery specialist in the 29th, only to get a call from Fremont last week asking if I would be OK with the wrong interior trim (I was not). They did not seem overly apologetic (as opposed to my local delivery advisor who has been great to work with). As it seems that there is a defined group of us in this situation, and it was not in our control, I would hope that Tesla will make it right if it pushes us into July for delivery.

I am based in the Bay Area in California. Ordered on 4/30 still waiting-No VIN . Looks like they are shipping all out of state and country cars first so that folks can take possession before 6/30. Since i live a few miles away from the Tesla factory, I will be last in the line. I got an email from the factory that my car is expected to be ready towards 27/28 June. I have no issues with that as long as we all get our possession by 6/30 to take advantage of the Fed Tax credit specially people who have ordered in April and and early May 2019.

Surprised it's taking so long for you. My config is similar to yours except 6-seat and no FSD. I ordered on 5/29 and took delivery on 6/9 in the Bay Area.

The VIN assignment process appears to be all over the map. I am now 42 days after ordering on May 1st and I still don't have a VIN. I am hoping my vehicle is already en route to the Southeast and it will make it here before June 30th.

Have you talked to anyone at Tesla to make sure your order is in their system properly? I would be concerned that it fell through some crack and make sure they have it.
