I live in the US South-ish, and it gets hot and humid.
So I want heat reduction, and glare reduction. But I also like a uniform look, and I'm frugal.
So I took measurements, did my research, and decided I could DIY my entire MS from 2 rolls of 40" x 10' ceramic film.
1 roll of 35% to do the sides and back, and 1 roll of 70% to do the windshield and roofs (2015 pano opens, so 2 piece)
Just waiting for a longer stretch of warmer weather to tackle the install. KY spring weather is all over the place.

The only time I've heard this is from an installer nervous about the amount of slip solution used getting into electronics at the base of the windscreen. I'm not sure what's in there of concern, but I also know that decent shops have plenty of ways to keep liquids where they need to be and away from places they shouldn't be.

Basically, if a shop says they can't do it- take them at their word before they screw something up for you and go to another shop. Plenty of Teslas have tinted windscreens, and plenty of shops can do it.
^ Yes, find another shop. The same goes for doing the rear window in two pieces instead of one. Check out Yelp and Google reviews of shops that have tinted Tesla's, they understand that squeegee'ing is a bit different, and will squeegee horizontally, instead of vertically so less of the solution is pushed inside of the car. They will also apply towels and a microfiber rope in the gaps between the dash and windshield for added protection so the electronics won't get damaged. It seems like the shop either doesn't have enough experience or had a bad experience.

Just had my entire car tinted today. Xpel XR Black 55 windshield, 15 on everything else except the small roof is 70.
