Tire size question

I really don’t care for the stretched look or the exposed wheel lip with the stock 235 width tires and would like to switch out to a wider tire.

I have a Model 3 on order with the 19” wheels and would like to swap the stock all-seasons for Pilot Sport 4S in 255.

Are there any fitment issues when running a wider tire? What would be an appropriate sidewall ratio? I am currently thinking 255-35r19.

Am also planning on purchasing a set of 18” wheels for winters and would like feedback on 245 width tires for winter.

255/35R19 is about 0.4" smaller in diameter than stock, and will fit 8.5" width wheels.

I feel the same way and will eventually swap the 235/45 on my 18's out for 255/40. I have 15mm front and 20mm rest spacers waiting for M3P to arrive on the 30th. Not sure if that will be too wide if I do both.

A few folks have suggested the car auto-adjusts the speedometer and other items via GPS to account for tire diameter changes.

Anyone know if that's more than a rumor?

Other thing to be aware of is wider tires=less range (and that one ain't just a rumor)

How much does range go down?

Mountain Pass Performance is running 275 with +35 offset on all fours. Search the threads for more info. I think the post in in interior and exterior or something odd where a tires post should not be.

will vary with the specific wheels, tires, and driving scenario... I think MPP said a 20% hit on their car but don't know under what driving conditions/how long they tested for.
