Tires for longer roadtrips

Once it's a little safer to travel, I'd like to take the Model Y on longer road trips that would take us through unpredictable weather/temperatures. If we're going somewhere in the winter, we'll most likely have a set of wheels with dedicated winter tires, and we'd probably keep those drives shorter.

But otherwise, I'm worried about driving on the 21" summer tires. We would be driving through warm deserts, but then occasionally go over mountain passes or stay in high elevation where temperatures could drop quite a bit. If we're traveling in Spring/Fall, it could easily be snowing still.

Would it make sense to switch out our main wheels to something that has All Season tires, and then dedicated winter tires when we're heading into winter snow? Or would summer tires be OK?

Per Pirelli, the P Zero (PZ4) is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Your example is exactly why all-season tires exist. While all-season tires may not be ideal for long-term snow/ice driving, they should do fine with the occasional snow/ice - especially on plowed roads.
