Tires/Rims making "crinkling noise"

Hi All,

I've noticed that the tires/rims make a crinkling type of noise when I am driving or backing up slowly <5mph. At first I thought perhaps plastic bags or something was stuck in the wheels but it appears to be coming from the tires/rims. Has anyone noticed something similar? Only noticable to someone standing outside the car

Aerocaps on? They crinkle as they flex while the wheels roll. See if you hear it when they are off.

If you're on the 19" with Gemini covers, it's the covers making the noise. There are small tabs on the back that are causing the noise. Tesla will fix it by either grinding down the tabs or providing new covers.

Hi! Did Tesla fix the "crinkling" sound issue? What did they say the problem was? My 5 mo old Model Y just started making that same exact sound and I described it exactly like that, a "crinkling" sound. Thanks!
