Details:
This Tesla Roadster Sport is a vibrant Very Orange example of the rare all-electric sports car, based on the Lotus Elise chassis, which boasts particularly low mileage.
Specified from new in right-hand drive, this represents an even rarer version of the Roadster, with only around 300 such cars believed to have been delivered worldwide.
It is powered by a three-phase electric motor, producing 285bhp and 295lb-ft of torque, coupled with the single-speed BorgWarner fixed gear transmission.
The Tesla Roadster was the first road-legal production EV to use lithium-ion battery cells in its 53kWh battery pack, and each car had a claimed range of 244 miles.
It is capable of reaching 60mph in 3.7 seconds, and boasts a claimed top speed of 125mph.
This car is a UK-built example manufactured at Lotus’ Hethel headquarters, and is noted to have been first delivered to Japan, before being imported back into the UK and first registered with the DVLA in June 2023
The seller notes that European Tesla specialist Kris Rosa from Rosa Motors flew over to the UK in May 2023 to inspect the car, and noted its cleanliness and excellent battery condition.
This example has been with its second owner for two years.
The odometer shows just 5,305 miles from new.

Very beautiful car but don't fall for it as a US customer unless you plan on storing it for over a decade. "S" VIN means made in the UK, not the US. It won't be eligible for import until 2036 after the 25 year rule has elapsed. Might still be a good investment but hard to say what 12 years of storage, shipment, battery replacement (whether charged or not), and then sale would yield.

I concur with you! I saw this up for sale in Japan a few years back and I came to the same conclusion after some research. Hence, this listing is for Tesla Roadster fans “across the pond”!

2010 Tesla Roadster Sport
~6,900 Miles, R80 Battery Upgrade, Carbon Fiber Hardtop
Ending March 8th at 1:32 PM PST
Location
Fairfield, CA 94534

Mileage 6,900
VIN 5YJRE1A38A1000559

Its strange that such a low-mileage car would have the R80 upgrade. Assuming a 300 mile range, that's only 35 full charges (back when it only had 200 miles of max range).
I wonder if someone let then original battery brick due to being left off of a charger.

The 3 untitled Roadsters found in shipping containers in China...

Thanks for sharing! I’m not sure if it’s accurate to say that they’ve never been “titled” as a reason for value. There are cars with less miles for sure and the for sale ad for the 1-of-1 last roadster, vin 2500, also stated it was “never registered”.
“We offer the unique opportunity to buy the very last Tesla Roadster ever built, VIN 2500. It is not only the very last Roadster which came out of the factory, it was also prepared and conditioned in a very special way. This car comes in an unique sparkling white, a special white & black interior trim, full Carbon package inside, unique Carbon diffusor, the VIN 2500 badging, white ornaments on the rims and Signatures of the Tesla Team from back in the days on the battery. VIN 2500 was never registered, stored on tire pillows on marble floor and has only ca. 200km original mileage from the factory. The original coverage on the steering wheel, hand brakes, etc. is still on. Of course the battery was kept on ideal level and the overall car serviced. Imagine you missed like everybody the chance for a Ferrari 250 GTO before the prices really took off, now you have it with this very special collectors car from the most valuable car manufactorer in the world.“

I’ve read of several other owners that have posted ownership only with “Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO)”. There’s an owner in Europe that took delivery without an ESS and MCO, Only. Talk about the long game!
