Football season is over, and tb12 got another ring. His 7th
I could not help but wonder how unlikely his feat was as a matter of chance so I started with:
64 quarterbacks in the league each season
1/64 win a ring
1/32 reach the final
Brady has played ~ 20 seasons
reached the final 10 times
won 7 finals
I figured that without attention to order, the chance is (1/64)^7 + (1/32)^3
But it took him 20 years, so there were 20!/(10!10!) ways to get it done
TB is a 1 in ((1/64)^7 + (1/32)^3)/(20!/(10!10!))
Not bad. One in 700 Billion
Any disagreements about the math ?
