TPMS Upgrade

FWIW, you can buy the Gen2 sensors from RockAuto for $48ish each. Its a real VDO part and looks exactly like the Tesla part to me, except the place where the Tesla logo would be has been ground off. Their pricing hasn’t changed.

I’m about a month away from having new tires put on my car. So I assume I can pick up the RockAuto sensors and have them installed at that time. Then I only need to have Tesla upgrade the software and whatever else the need to do. What should I expect to pay for the Tesla upgrade.

ah yes that was for the whole thing. on my invoice it showed the receiver as $25 each.

Can you post your invoice (with any personal info blacked out)? $400 all-in is the lowest price I have heard of. (Post not to prove it, post to use it to get that rate from my own Service Center.)

they charge like ~$600 in total for the whole package last time i checked, they would not let me choose and pick which parts i wanted, it was either you buy it all or none.

I was at the SC recently getting an 50K service and as soon as I pulled out of the garage I received a warning that TPMS failed, they upgraded me a few weeks later. A nice treat on their dime or it helped on the service fee.

Looks like your Service Center has not only a big discount on the hourly rate at $125 vs. $175, but only charged you a fraction of time for the job vs. 1.65 hours quoted in darrelld's post #16 on page 1 of this thread. Nice!

Agreed!! Tempe, AZ Service has always been so nice to work with! Gave me a P100D loaner once for kicks and giggles haha.
