I have a fairly early 2021 model y with factory installed tow package. I’ve only ever utilized the tow package for a bike carrier - thus never plugged in to the trailer electrical connector.
Recently I bought some lights to put on the back of the bike rack to try to mitigate any brake light blockage.
I bought a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter and went to plug it in to test. After determining my connections were good the lights still didn’t work.
A little probing with a multimeter showed no voltage
But I did find something.
A random unconnected connector. I vaguely remember seeing it back when I took possession in late 2020 but dismissed it as unimportant.
I’m assuming I have an “assembly mistake”. I’ve got a ticket in with Tesla. But given I didn’t report it before my 50k miles were up, I can’t count on a warranty fix. (Maybe good will?)
Does any one have any knowledge where the mating connector should be? And how to get in there (bumper removal doesn’t look fun)
Thanks
