he removed more than just the frunk....

I've read all of the comments following the YouTube video.

He makes no mention of, nor does he alludes to, any other weight reduction aside from the frunk removal for the purposes of this 10.44 pass.

He does however state that further weight reduction efforts aside from the current frunk removal may be utilized in future runs.

Since the only claim he has made regarding weight reduction is the frunk removal, and his videos over these last several months appear to be on the up and up, I am inclined to believe that his improvement to this point , i.e. achieving 10.44 over his prior bests in this low options version of the car, is related to his frunk removal and no other weight reduction efforts thus far.

buy a no option P100D, add some lighter wheels and take out a decent amount of weight..... he is using LM....

Did they use LM to get the best time? Is there any way to get info on how to repeat this performance for other P100D owners?

Yep. I suspect he's doing this to drive additional traffic to his channel. To get .2 out of the run I'd bet he pulled everything what wasn't nailed down.

When I got my 11.3 in my P85DL I took out all charging cables, tow hook, floor mats, random crap in the car, basically everything that wasn't nailed down. weight has consequences.

The only track run I have seen with a stock base model with stock wheels is the one where the TRC guy ran the 2.33 0-60 and 6.69 eighth mile. Stock Tesla Model S P100D smokes a modified P100DL with lightweight wheels in a drag race

Too bad he didn't run the quarter with the stock base version ....

With the windows tinted, it's impossible for an observer to tell whether or not the passenger and rear seats have been removed.

Usually in his videos, he shows at least one camera angle coming from the passenger side of the car.

But it is impossible to look at that video and tell if the seats, the carpet and other items in the car remain.

Even still though, I wonder how much even the passenger seat weighs in a stripped vehicle like that. As well as the rear seat.

Is the passenger seat in a stripped Model S a power seat?

He replied that don't try to remove the frunk and expect to run a 10.4 and that the details will be released in a week or two. So apparently more weight was reduced somewhere else.

Maybe he just meant that unless you also have a stripper P100D removing the frunk on it's own won't do it.

I wonder how many zero-option P100Ds there are floating around out there with 19 inch wheels and no glass or pano roof. I expect that there aren't that many.

nah. there is simply no way 30 pounds makes a measurable difference on a 5000 pound car. simple physics. he obviously removed some significant parts.

I suspect the weight reduction is closer to 200 pounds. Thinking frunk and trunk trims, along with seats. The prepped track in the latest video is certainly helping.

Just a friendly reminder that this was the same kid that filmed multiple illegal street racing videos that put himself and others in unnecessary danger. As well as the dad who was filmed abusing their loaner car doing donuts/burnouts. When you watch videos from them, just keep that in mind.

Now, if he can get it down to 4080 lbs then 9.999s.

In the latest MotorTrend Head 2 head episode P100D vs Rs7, the Tesla did 10.5 @ 125mph with ultra white seats. No glass roof and had the arachnid wheels.
