Tri-State RWD owners - Who’s opting for winter tires?

Just curious who feels it’s worth it for NYC area winters.

It doesn’t snow super often, but I’m in Essex County, NJ with plenty of hills, so am considering it, specifically with the car being RWD.

At the same time, our winters can run warm just as easy, when winter tires would be worse.

What do most of you do?

AWD here in NY and I put snow tires on the M3 and STI. Even our old Crosstrek with AS tires.

For RWD if you don’t have the option to stay home from work on a snow day, you need winter tires. If you can avoid most snow fall, then AS are doable, but not recommended.

I ran all-seasons for three winters in our RWD S and didn't have any issues. When they started getting bald I bought a set of X-Ice's, but if I didn't have space to store a second set I would have just gotten a new set of all-seaons early.
