Trunk/frunk liner - cosmetic

it is sold as sound dampening, which is fine, but i'm interested in it to cover up the ugly metal.

anyone have long-term experience with how this improves the LOOKS? does it look great and hold up well?

I have both frunk and trunk liner installed. It comes with retention hardware so it won't just hold with double side tapes.
Sound improvement, none.
Looks improvement, yes.
Trim protection, yes.

Overall is they just made me feel good to have them........
I bought them from China site and it only costs me $38 with free shipping

I bought them from aliexpress. The vendor I bought from increased the price but you can search for other lower prices
