Seriously, I think ridicule works. The biggest success of Tesla activist shorts was that they managed to convince a lot of smart people as well, via affinity fraud, shameless bullshitting and the vicious character assassination and non-stop bullying of Elon Musk.

If an otherwise smart person falls for any of these articles then that's good: chances are high that the satiric nature becomes apparent by the end of the article, and the experience of almost falling for it conditions the person for the deception methods of real FUD. The Onion is so hilarious because sometimes it's almost true ...

Unfortunately, at least for now, EV's are out of reach for a lot of people. You can get a used 2011 LEAF for a decent price(my other car is a 2011 LEAF I got for $5500 about a year ago), but you also need a place to charge it. That's easy if you live in a house with a garage, but in, say, an apartment building, it may be more difficult. My work also has free charging, but, again, if you're lower income the chances of having that are low. It sucks, because it's another example where more wealthy people end up able to pay less for the same thing than poorer people.

EDIT: By the way, did a calculation a while back on my commute cost in the LEAF(or the S, but my wife usually takes that). Comes out to $0.04/mile if I charge at home. Since I typically only use it for commuting to work and have a charger at work, it comes out to an absurd $0.02/mile.

Here's a key paragraph of total FUD - split it up into soundbites and each one is factually correct, but amazing how you can twist things when you string them all together into sentences:

They are sending them to China, to be used in showrooms and for Service Center training:

"The Tesla employee said that the Model 3 vehicles going to China are to be used as showroom vehicles and/or to train Service Center personnel."​

Presumably these won't be sold to the general public and there might be limitations on how they can be used on public roads.

But this does suggest that Model 3 sales in China are imminent - they could start in Q4?

Due to the 40% tariff, it would be idiotic to send new Model 3's to be sold in China ahead of Europe. Even for training, makes little sense to ship to China ahead of Europe.
