Turn signal partial and full push?

I was wondering why the turn signals have a partial and full push position when they both appear to do the same exact thing? Could this be a hold over from before the new auto cancel turn signal feature?

Yes. If you disable auto-cancel they work “normally”.

I noticed if you have EAP and you only use a partial push it only activates the turn signal but if you do a full push that's when it actually auto changes lanes and uses the turn signal as it does it.

If you're using basic autopilot, a full push on the turn signal will decrease the amount of force needed to turn the steering wheel to disengage AP.
