Drivers floor mat. I used the clips but the mat doesn't stay in place.

If you push it up tight against the dead pedal at the front, and clip the sides, and use the centre pin clip, it can't go anywhere! Mine is very secure.

No shifting here. I used a few clips on the side and the velcro to the console but I skipped the floor pin.

Which side was necessary?

I didn't have them shift. It was more to secure the tops on both where in a couple of places they would hang down or not be flush.
